The new, current, forums still do not work properly with Mozella/Netscape. I have already reported this to you Gypsy. And I refuse to use IE.

I can't remember if I responded toyou about this or not, so I will post it here for anyone else still using non-IE browsers.

Internet Explorer 5.x or higher are the only browsers that we support, while others may or may not be compatible with these forums, if not the fix is to use a supported browser.

Internet explorer still sucks and this reply sounds about right from somebody that is probably not good enough to make a webpage that will work with all browsers. Wabbit netscape 7.1 works ok now by the way. Mozilla is making a comeback a lot of people are starting to get get smart and get away from Microsoft Garbage. With Linux gaining ground against microsoft might want to step up and fix the forum so it's works with everthing

It looks fine with Opera, Mozilla, and Firebird.

My coding ability not withstanding, the forum code is W3C compliant and will work in any browser that meets those standards. This is not the place to argue which applications suites are better or worse, the website is designed to meet the demands of the vast majority (and even some of the minorities) web browsers, in other words it's optimized for the largest audience necessary, and I see no need to recode or add code so that the less then 1% of visitors to this site don't see very large green blocks in there non-compliant browsers. If you have nothing to add to this discussion, which concerns technical support for the forums, and not your assumptions of the abilities of programmers, please refrain from posting.

They need to have the flaws that ie 5.xx and up have or they'll not work properly..

I use opera mostly. If i have it set to identify as opera, mozilla 5.0 or MSIE 6.0, it works fine.

If you dislike how these forums are handled, either via coding, moderating, layout, whatever, no one is forcing you to use them :) Incidently, I know the forums are at least usable in mozilla, as I ocassionally use it.

Yeh, They are usuable in every browser probably.. Some just have boxes, others have words cut off, and just little stuff like that.

Might depend on the version of Mozilla used. I use Mozilla 1.5 on Windows and I do not see a problem. Try upgrading to 1.5 if you have an older version of Mozilla. I never tried Mozilla on other platforms, so maybe that is part of the problem?

I used to program in ASP, which the forums are apparently written in. The company I worked for supported only IE, but later had clients that wanted to use their Intranet and only had Netscape on a Mac, and were out of luck unless they ran VirutalPC and Windows 95 with IE. We of course used VBScript and ActiveX controls a lot. So only IE was usabable. I do not see VBScript or ActiveX controls being used here, but I could be wrong. All I can say is that I appreciate the work done to fix the forums and I understand how hard it is to try and support every known browser out there. Mozilla 1.5 for Windows seems to work fine with your forums. No complaints here. Good work.
