 Planet Movement
Is there a reason the person moving a planet does not get charged a turn to move the planet? Reason I ask - You have a corp flying around on a L4 firing foton's like it's nobodies business and you hit them with a return foton there is no way to immobilize them. Should a planet with no shields suffer the same as a player being forced to sit idle until top of the hour? or at least 5 / 10 minutes? Just a thought.

 Re: Planet Movement
Interesting thought, but the player on that L4 is out of turns. He has the same penalty as the person he's trying to photon.

But he can still move the planet (currently), I am actually leaning more toward's if the player moving the planet has 0 turns it can't be moved. This would still make it where the other corp members that have turns could attempt a rescue of the planet and move it and the planet out.

Lifting off a planet and landing on another does not take a turn, so he could grab another planet with more fuel ore and keep on "moving" even though he has no turns.

Yea I am suggesting it takes a player with turns to move a planet ... no turns = no move So the player can lift and land on another planet all they want, they still would not be able to move the planet. Only a player with turns could move a planet.

Just a thought ... By that same logic, you should be able to fly a ship without legs too... Small scout ships use less turns than bulky cargo ship, so it seems to me that moving a planet should take a whole lot of turns.

 Re: Planet Movement
This has the makings of an interesting discussion. I personally think that before we could make it in a logical way, we'd need to define what a "turn" is.
Like Micro said, most big ships take more turns than a smaller ship. Turns obviously aren't a measurement of time, as I can send a photon to another sector without it taking any turns, same with E-probes and disrupting mines.
So if we are going to make the argument that bigger things take turns, especially planets, then what exactly are turns in the game?

Quick answer, if you're out of turns, it's kinda like being stuck at the house. You can't go outside and hop in the car and go to the grocery. I can see doing maintenance tasks, but I don't think (if I had a choice) I'd go for being able to drive a planet (when you can't drive a ship) or using the weapon systems.

But if you are moving from 1 sector to another there should be 1 turn imposed. I know I and many others have used planets to get around protecting other assets when I had no turns. Just thought it might make a good discussion, seems so far most agree.... now we just need JP involved.

 Re: Planet Movement
This would also affect players using a planet selloff script, and severely limit blue cashing.
