What are the different conditions that prevent locking on a fed beacon? What happens when you are fedsafe, but can no longer warp directly into fedspace?

You must have 1000 or more alignment to twarp to fedspace. That is the only requirement.

"but can no longer warp directly into fedspace?"
you must either be adj or have atleast a type 1 twarp and have 1000 (or more) blue align. also you must have enough turns to move atleast 1 sector in your current ship. also, if you are being PIG'd, then you cant directly warp to fed. heck, even a ship IG will hold you from getting to fed, unless you are adj. then you *can* get there. :)
thats all i can think of right now that will prevent you from warping directly to fedspace. oh, also, if the universe is wierdly shaped then it might not be possible to get to fedspace in 1 jump. (ie: a lowered max of max warps)
umm... ok, im tapped out now.
i apologize for jher not being more specific :) hehe

Thanks for the response. I guess I've never noticed the relation of Twarp and Alignment. Learn something new everyday.

Some general fed space info
*You are safe in Fed Space until you are at 1000 Exp.
*You can transwarp to fed space when you have 1000 positive alignment.
*There is a limit to the number of ships allowed to park in any fed space sector (usually 5) press V from the command menu to see the limit. This limit included cloaked ships. Violators are towed at extern
*you must have 99 figs or less to park in fed space. Any more and you will be towed at extern.

Correction:
You must have 100 figs or less to park in fedspace, not 99 or less.

Also, parking is in terms of offline parking. If you're online, the tow limits don't apply to you.

The fact that so many people think it's 99 is simply a case of a widespread misinformation.

Ok, question about this....
If there are more than the limit, does everyone get towed or does the server know who the last "5" were????

random, so if a red is parked you can "pile" on top of him to try and get him towed out.

I've always understood that all but the last 5 will be towed, assuming a limit of 5. Sound off if you've tested it and know for sure though.
