A have an alien race that I created that I am having problems destroying their home Planet.

I have attacked and killed off all the colonist on their homeworld, as well as jettison all their products off the planet.

Whenever I try to Destroy their Planet I receiving a message that "The Atomic Detonator has been disabled by the inhabitants of the planet"

I find this hard to belive since there the display planet command shows No colonists exists

I have tried about 10-12 different times all with the same outcome.

I dont think there is a way to make Non Gold aliens invinvible, so im not sure why this is happening?

Can anybody provide some assistance here>

The setting in Big Bang is set to invincable.
If you are the sysop of this game (copy it and put it on a test game)
I'm pritty sure if you were to Re-Bang it .. look in the Bang screen
to the lower right corner , it will probly have invincable set to On or Yes.
Please let us know for sure.

The only Invicible setting I can see in the general options is for Ferrengi Invincable, which is set to no.

This isnt the Ferrengi, Its a custom Alien Race I created.

Or is the Bang setting different?

Yes you are right , I just did a rebang to check .. its not in rebang.
It is option window H in Tedit .. and called Ferrengi.
So since yours is set to no .. I'm at a loss also.

I'm sorry for the misinformation.

If your planet number is 2, then it is the ferrengi planet. Who knows how you did it. ;)

From T-Edit help on maintaing a home sector:
quote:
Maintain Home Sector

This option unlocks many special alien race behaviors.A race with a Home
Sector will also maintain a cluster of sectors around that sector
(HomeSpace), and a homeworld that is located in the Home Sector.Aliens
will be spawned within HomeSpace, and they will fight to protect it from
intruders. For nonaggressive races, defensive fighters will be deployed
around HomeSpace. For aggressive races, offensive fighters and mines
will be deployed. With "restrict weak aliens" set to true, aliens
without the required number of fighters will be unable to leave
HomeSpace.Aliens who loose most of their fighters may return to
HomeSpace in search of more fighters.

The aliens will fight to keep their homeworld. If it is captured, they
will assault the homeworld until it is recaptured. If it is moved, they
will search for it.

An alien homeworld cannot be destroyed with Atomic Detonators.

That last sentence is the key.

Are they subject to collision?

I tried that once. Dropped 5 planets in their sector. Their world never did collide. It was always the planets I created that collided.
Tried a few times with the same results.

Thanks Traitor.
Half the fun is infiltrating the alien outer sectors, getting past the defenses, and blowing the planet up. Now it makes sense why all my attempts fail

Is capturing a planet the same as landing and "claiming" it

Is there another way of destroying the planet?

Or using it so when the original alien race enters the sector they get attacked by there own cannon?

If it is a level 4 or above, then move it. Depending on the alien settings they will moth it until the ore runs out - the aliens never end, they just keep regenning.

If it is a level 3 and you are going to set the sector cannon, then set it to kill their ships with a minimum ore amount (think 3 units ore per damage unit (fig killed) might be right - Traitor?).

Sector canons are 3 ore per 1 damage in both Classic and MBBS.
Classic Atmosphere cannon is 2 ore per 1 damage.
MBBS Atmosphere cannon is 1 ore per 2 damage.

I thought you could collide alien homeworlds, but maybe that's only Ferrengal. Maybe that was an older version too. I'd have to test.
