Ok so my corp has a nice big bubble and the ferrengi are cooped up in there space which is in the back of our bubble. We decide to make them our slaves. They are not cooperating. They filled 2 planets for us and then seem to have quit. Now they just run around claiming the planets we make in there and not filling them.

Do they not fill planets if the citadel is higher than a certain level? Any other reason they might be being lazy on us? Maybee there has to be a couple colonists on the planet before they will fillem up?

Checking through the Gold settings the only things I am seeing that might effect their planetary proactiveness would be: Minimum Number of Outer Sectors (5-20) and Maintain A Home Sector (Ferrengal); this is just a theory as of now, but I would take this to be the number of sectors surrounding Ferrengal that they will proactively maintain, as far as Planetary maintenance is concerned, (this may or may not also include the To and/or From paths, so maybe nearby one way’s with long routes back or visa versa would effect this?) Other then that aliens don’t seem to bother planets left in open space, other then claiming them over and over each time they pass through the sector.

Well they are bottled up in a 200+ sector bubble and we have only the outer 3 sectors at the door occupied. Ferrengal is gone, has been since we moved into the bubble. Ill try to make them a new one and see how that goes. I have never really seen Ferrengi or other aliens claim planets anywhere but in their own space, though ive been told that they do. Unless its their home planet of course.

Just in the past few days they have started trying to get out, killing our cannons. This is a Subzero edit so they are packing heavy too.

Are the sectors they were working in relation to were Ferrengal was orginally at, their claimed space, and/or the first Planet they started working? I was wondering if any of those things might effect how they act towards other Planets. From what I know they always claim Planets as they pass through a sector that has them, even if the Planets are in FedSpace.

It is they're acutall "Ferrengi Space", their original planet is gone, another corp caped it early in the game.

I’ll have to teak around with that sometime, I would have thought if the Planet is in a sector they claim that they would maintenance it, maybe things like Terra being out of Colo’s, having or not having a Port in the sector, once the Planet reaches the Ferrengal starting level they stop actually working it, Ferrengal being destroyed, etc. might effect that also. Maybe they have to be able to move so many sectors and back before they can actually generate Colo’s.

Heh, well we just happened to cap back the Ferrengi planet from the other corp last night...i stripped off the colos and gave it back to the ferrengi. They have since stopped trying to get out of the bubble. Awww they are happy now....aint that cute.

I know that Ferrengal is usually adjacent to their main port "Ferrengal Station" and not directly under it. I wasn't sure what sector it should be in so i just went ahead and put it directly under that port...they moved it themselves. Didn't know they could do that.

Hehe, that is pretty kewl. To bad you can't hire them on as your own Corpies!

As to the question of Gold Aliens claimin planets, they have in games I've hosted when their own homeworld has been taken.

Yeah, I have witnessed it too on my server under the same conditions.

So have I. The aliens we run in our games will go anywhere to reclaim their planet, and they even have taken sectors outside their own space. I'm going to assume it also has to do with the grudge setting. Either way, makes it rather interesting than them just sitting there.
