I heard that there is a way to make several k experience in short amount of time. The posts in this forum referred to it as "ore whore". Is that the script that does this task ? Can anyone explain how this or an appropriate tecnique works in detail ?

Ore ***** is a script that if planets come pre stocked with ore it will continually pop planets and transfer the ore to another planet. The only reason you get an experience gain is because you create and destroy planets.

In other words all you're doing is pbusting and transfering ore.

If you want the script check out grimy's for WildStars Ore *****.
Alexio has a base building script that has the option to do the same thing.

Easier way is to port for exp, if you're really desperate for cheap experience.
It's fairly straight forward to get 2 exp per trade, so find an SSS and buy
one unit (I think that works) of each, getting 6 exp per dock. I think some
people here (no names, ask around) have gotten the 5 per trade thing down,
and if so this might turn out to be a better strategy. Of course that costs 1
turn per, so you might just want to pop planets instead.

A) You can't just buy one unit, since to get 2XP you have to be within 98% of the price, and with one unit of ore and organics, especially, one haggle amount won't work and one credit less won't earn you XP. With something like EP's haggler you can probably manage 2XP trading 100-200 credits worth of each, but with standard (crappy) haggling you probably need to trade 500cr or so to consistently get 2XP.

B) You're almost never going to get 5XP, even with EP's perfect formulas, because to get 5XP you have to trade the exactly perfect credit amount. Since credit values are in 48-bit floating point, not integers, the vast majority (99.9%+) of the time the "perfect" credit amount includes a value after the decimal point, which means 5XP is completely impossible on that particular haggle.

Very good to know. I've tried to read some of EP's stuff but haven't been
involved with the beta testing or any of the more detailed work. I have
noticed that with ck I always get 2 xp on best buy buydowns. Of course the
amounts are far higher than 500 cr. It does make sense tho, you have to
trade enough to be atleast 98% of the best price.

I have had some people tell me they can reliably get 5xp per trade if
they find the right port. Don't know how accurate that is. What would it
take to get, say, 4xp per trade? If I had it to the exact even credit
every single time, what kind of xp could I average?

For experience points there is only 1,2, and 5. If you want to go gain experience the fastest and best way is to pop and det planets at SD, althought this is expensive. Though using planets requires fewer returns then PPTing, so in turn limited games this is the overall better method.

you can only gain 1/2/5
to gain 5 points, you need a ship with only 1 hold, and you need to trade equip and some other junk, i dont recall, but vid kid let that secret out a while ago, it is not worth it.

that script is for unlims *only* (yes, u CAN use in a turn game, but you'd never find a corp again, lol)
if you want quick XP, it is going to depent 100% on the edits :)
if it is an aged game, go ppt
if it is not, and torps/dets are cheap, pbust at dock.
if they are expensive, ppt/haggle and then make bases, and sst/jet to start cashing.
if there is some fool with 4.5m xp adj to dock in a pod... cap him :)
lots of ways, all depends on the situation.
:)

If your offer is between 98.00% and 98.99%, you get 1 EXP. The 2 EXP come from 99.00% to 99.99%, and the mythical 5 EXP is allegedly reserved for 100.00%. [;)]

Yes, I know that you know this, but what Xen said was slightly amiss. To get 2 EXP, you have to be within 1% of the price.

Darn typos. [:)] EP's right of course.

And anyway, there's even more complexity to the 100% trade due to the binary representation of floating point numbers. Certain integers may be impossible to represent exactly in floating point (e.g. 103 may actually be internally represented as 103.000000000000000025) and thus even if on the "exact" credit an (a == b) test in the code may return false. There may be a built-in tolerance for this, such as (abs(a - b) < 0.0001), if JP put one in, but if not, 5XP is possible in even LESS cases.

Bottom line: Never depend on 5XP trades. Even with EP's perfect haggler, expect to average 2XP per trade (2.0000000000001, maybe [;)]).

I am hoping you are asking this question because you are going to be playing red, and not of the mistaken belief that he with the highest exp is the winning player.

Ok after reading this post I just had to drop in ..

Yes 5 exp/trade is possible .. I wrote a sscript to do it .. it takes time cause port has to max again between trades ..
and the exp gained in time is not really worth it after the math was done and over.

But yes 5 exp per porting .. in a pod with 10 hold of eq.
Not every port will do it .. but a few is enough for me to say .. I know I can do it again .. [:)]

Now for the Ore ***** .. yes it was a script Chris Collings and I wrote .. it upgrades SXX ports and buys dwn while world trading.
I was the first script by that name .. written for twx 1.09.

Since it was encripted for 1.09 it cant be used on anything newer ,
plus I never had the source for it .. I wrote a newer one ..

The main exp made with script was from the spending of 200 mil to upgrade ports ..
<side note> I is cheaper to make & break planets to gain exp.
But the upgrading of ports was to buy down .. the side effect was the gain of exp.

Thanks for your time.
