Unread post Stalemate in unlim truce games
In games such as unlim truce subzero, it seems a little pointless to do anything. Is it true that I can hide behind my cannons indefinitely, as long as I log on every day? Actually I think this has been covered before, but I'm rusty, had never been very good in the first place, and my most recent opponents kept insisting they could win anytime they wanted. A corpmate agreed with them (to me via ss).

I think I just lost the game, but only because I wasn't careful... I'd been running ugrid in passive mode away from keys and somehow it got stuck on an enemy fig... probably I caught a limpet and they laid a fig where ugrid thought there was none, or something like that. Very dumb of me to run it afk and without a saveme driver.
(edit: Actually, I might survive if I can get on right after extern, and if my ceo has logged back in by then and can provide me with transportation to my bubble, where we might lose our gate sector after nine moths if they are quick and he doesn't stop them, but our next sector should hold them long enough to let us regroup)

But disregarding stupid mistakes like that, it seemed like even though the enemy corp had a bigger grid, more assets, and more corpies at keys more often, they'd never be able to get to me as long as I kept logging in before extern to move planets around, and provided I could keep generating enough ore, and keep enough of a grid to keep them from doing things like using aliens as moths.

Before getting SD'd I had been ultra careful, and the enemy was of course trying to goad me into making a mistake. But as far as I could tell, all I had to do was maintain a low profile and keep one of us fedsafe or at least blue, and as long as I could keep enough ore in my gate to take out nine moths (corp size is three), which I could, I was basically untouchable.

Is this a correct assessment or am I missing something? Btw the planet per sector limit in this game is two, which makes it a bit more difficult to keep them out, but even if I adhere to the planet limit at all times, I can still take out at least six moths before having to swap planets or whatnot.

of course.
if you are able to stay in game, generate enough ore and rotate planets daily.. you could keep them out of your base/bubble.

but is that really a win?
I guess some or maybe most would consider that a stalemate.

If 'I' am restricted to my bubble by another corp in an game where I can bust planets and create enough ore to hold off daily moths. I still lose.

that's like mommy or daddy telling me to stay in my room and don't come out.. and I cant do anything about it.

just tells me I better work on other aspects of my game.

a better game would be one that you can't bust planets for ore.. with smaller bubbles.
or find a turns game.

That's basically what I was getting at... this edit encourages the boring kind of play i described.

It would be a good idea to keep trying!
Rather than quit and never even attempt to log back in game after you get killed for the FIRST time.

You will never progress beyond a noob when you're a quitter.

When I got #SD# I had to leave a few hours later anyway - I was out of town with family and friends all weekend. I did install a remote access app at home and was planning on logging in at extern, but I would only have been able to play for maybe half an hour a day for five or ten minutes at a time until I got back home on Monday night. Anyway, real life made me forget all about trade wars; it was the last thing on my mind at 11PM New Year's Eve, and it would have been the same whether I had been SD'd or not.

For the games I was in, I assume they are lost by now...
