Can someone tell me where and when alien traders spawn?

they spawn from their home sector and they spawn at a rate designated in tedit.
aliens act weird sometimes though, so that *might* not always be correct.

Is that for alien races? Because I didn't think "Alien Traders" had a home sector - could be wrong though.

I remember reading somewhere that Alien Traders spawn at terra, sector 1, at extern, depending on the length of the game. Is that correct?

i was talking about all gold aliens that "maintain" a homeworld. as to spawning at terra... i would say no. but again, aliens are... alien to me. heh.

I can say with complete certainty that I think they don't spawn at terra at extern, but rather throughout the day in their own space.

No ambiguity there, eh? Hehe. I'm not talking about gold alien races though, or Ferrengi, but those random alien traders that don't belong to a civilization - so what would be their own space? Or is that random?

ok, well.
i think whenever you start up an alien race in a game, they always have a planet. whether they defend it or not is changable, but i think they always have a planet. the sector their planet starts in would be home space for non-gold aliens. for gold aliens, it actually says in the sector that it is alien space (similar to fedspace)

OH.. i know what you are talking about. ya they dont have a planet. god i havent played in a game with THOSE aliens in a LONG time... wow. umm. ya they dont spawn in fedspace at tern... i guess they spawn randomly out in space as they truely dont have home space
