How do you destroy the shields on a shielded planet?

there is not a promp or anything telling me that I can attack the shields.

Any help is welcome

Just land on the planet (hit L from sector prompt)... If the planet is not yours, you will be prompted to attack the shields as long as the cannon blast did not kill you.

If you land on a "shielded" planet and go straight to the fig prompt, it means the planet doesn't have any shields on it. Beware, if there are shields, once you kill them all, the cannon will fire at you again.

Yes a planet can be a shielded planet without actually having any shields on it....doesn't make much sense does it.

The lesson here is if you have a planet go to level 5, Put at least 200 shields on it. :-) Preferably the most you can.

Well, definatly 200 to stop a photon. However you need to keep in mind that shields are strictly defensive, you can't easily use them to attack your enemy. Also, shields give you worse odds than figs, 20 or 22.5:1 (so 2 or 2.25:1) vs 3:1 that figs give you.

If a planet that is noted as shielded has none then that corp or person just didn't put none on IT.. PHX was giving you a hint that that doesn't make any since IE. make sure you put some on there. Atleast that is the way that I took his post.. However the best way to take a shielded planet is to make sure that as you destroy them that you don't destroy all of them just get it down to below 200 then Photone in and land and get past it and the cannons. From there you just have to deal with the Figs. Of course make sure Photons are on.

Yes...get them below 200, retreat and come back...this time when you photon in and land make sure you kill all those sheilds before the photon wears off. If you don't destroy them till after, any offensive fighters on the planet are gonna jack you.

Best to use a macro.
