 COLOWARS the new TW game

Here's an Idea for a whole new game. I have been playing with this for some time now....wanna see someone try it out. Its called "ColoWars" and the basis of the game is the lack of colonists. Basically, set the universe to have a max of 200 planets. Each planet would be started with 1 colonist! Terra would have 200 colonists. The point is that the game would be set up so that u couldn't make new planets without destroying other ones and a planet would take 1 colo to get to lvl1 2 for lvl2 4 for lvl3 etc... This would have the inherent problems of altering the production of the panets to be adapted to high production with a colonist number like 5 or 6 per group and to make a max colo per planet number really low. The point of the game is when terra dries up, the game will be one of territory in order to get colos and it would lead to an imperial war system like the old colonial powers of the 1500's. The person who finds the most planets would be the most powerful. Maybe we could limit the ships to only be able to carry 1 col per trip. These setting probably don't exist so feel free to expand on the idea.
An alternative would be to bang the universe with a dry terra and all the colos be spead amongst pre-set planet in the universe. Reguar production numbers, but each planet (lets say max 200 in the universe) would have like 30k colos on it or something...dunno, just some ideas....but i think a game based completely(in the beginning at least) on colonist aquisition could be fun.

I think if you make it harder to make money with planets, you tilt the game in favor of the evils (who don't need planets to make money). Not that this is all bad, just that it does. BTW, the max production a planet can have is one unit per colonists, I believe. I think it might be a neat twist if you couldn't build planets at all, you had to find them. This would probably require a big time investment from the game-op to put all the planets in. But he could set up some in good bubbles, some in bad, some good planets, some bad, etc... It'd be a race to find that best planet and claim it. Unfortunately, this would probably invite ZTM players, since they could go check out the best bubbles first and find the ones that have ready-made mountainous planets in them.

Sysop there has seeded the universe with 100 planets, all that universe can hold. So, you have to destroy a planet to build another. Gtorps and Dets are also more expensive than stock game.

So I have started making the COLOWARS game on Toadville. I am manually editing 400 planets and placing them randomly throughout the universe. This process might take a while...but when its done, I think it will be and awesome game. I am not only working it with planet edits, I am also doing ship edits and Ive placed an unbeatable planet somewhere out there with a BIG pot in its citadel. When it is finished (gimme a few weeks) Toad should post it in the rebang section. Soooo....since Ive worked so hard on this, im expecting a good turn-out. If u guys don't like it when it starts, tell me and ill make the appropriate changes.
