My base is in a dead end 4 deep. I know my opponent has found where I am, and it is a matter of time before he is going to attack. The game has not been running long, but I am the only person with a citadel at this point in time. I have 3 lvl 1's. Photons have a 30 second duration!. What would be my best defense in this position?

what about sentinels, are those ever worth it? seems like if you max one out it would take quite a number of fighters to land on your plannet... of course they could always load the sector with 250 mines or somthign

your best defence is a good offence...we had a lad come here and ask about how to attack a well defended sector. We gave him good info that would probably have worked, but the next day he came by and said he was dead. Why?? well because his NME saw it coming and struck first. IF you see your nme is mounting for an attack...then attack him first. You'll take out his offensive capabilities, and if your lucky, he'll try and use his defensive figs and resources against you. If he doesn't succeed in defeating you then he'll be open for your attack....if he does succeed....then you still win...sent out a universal message with his info. He'll be so weakened by his attack on u, someone else will come right in and kill him
Just an idea!
P.S. To al the lady trader, sorry Im using "HE" and "HIS" all over the place...just easier that way...so if it applies to u, switch "HE" with "SHE"

You should blow the planets yourself (you don't want to leave them behind for your enemy to develop for himself) and start looking for a new base. Since you only have L1's, they are not worth the time and money to try to defend. Hope you didn't spend too much time colonizing!

you could ask him/her nicely not to attack. It just might work. Otherwise, Mine the entire bubble, Nav Haz the entire bubble except for your base. Limp the entire bubble.. And you might want to buy a scout, or if you have and escape pod, load it with Corbs and stick them all around your bubble. And try to stay online when your enemy is on too.

I found his base..and guess what he was doing? Sleeping there in his ISSwith 300 figs. I captured his Iss..blew his pod and detonated his planets. You are correct..my best defense was a good offense. Thanks.

If he sleeps above his planets in a iss with 300 figs then I dont think you should be worried about him invading you .. it sounds to me like he needs to learn a little bit more about the game ..

Im not sure about that DrWho I was playing a game befor USO started with SilverDargon in it and they were fighting with other Corp. When I finlly found them Silver was sitting in maxed out sector in a maxed out ship. (I did not attack ) by the time I would have killed him got tangled up in his fighters and been blasted by planet. I wouldnt have had anything left to take planets. personly i though it was pretty smart. ( but im from old school and have not learned all the new tricks yet )

I am sure of it .. .. why I said it .. there is a big difference betwen 300 figs and a maxed ship? iss? .. if none of the planets show themselves as being sheilded then U should photon in .. since he's in a non tholian ship and he's offline .. you can ping him out of sector and then invade with him not even bein gthere .. U just need to have enough figs to take out his shields and still be over his number of figs .. as kemper said .. i hope you did at least photon him )

I just thought of a mean script... you enter the sector to photon, and then you pause it and set it to watch for the hour rolling over or regain turns and then fire a photon into the sector of choice. That would be fun for the other player, never get to play his turns again.

all he has to do is get a corpie to tow him out and you'll spend all yoru days photoning a empty sector at the top of the hour

hehe... well maybe if you don't know what you are doing.. I would never sit somewhere with just that one script running like that, it's too vunerable. Just ring your sector with figs and mines, whatever.. and then run a photon script as well... anything is possible, and I'm pretty sure I could think this through well enough where if I wanted to take someones turns away I could. And who is to say they have a corpie..
