A while back I had asked if there was a way to keep strong Ferrengi out of a sector without having them waste offensive figs or cannon fuel. Someone said to "Trap one of the Imperial Captains in the bubble Gate". No details were given on how to accomplish this, however. Can anyone elaborate on this? The only way I know to attract the Imperials to come to a specific sector is to drop below 1000 ALI in an ISS. Let's say Ryrain comes to reposses your ship, how do you you hold him in that sector? If there is an active planet Interdictor, won't he be trying to warp out and waste fuel, same as a trapped Ferrengi? Or, am I supposed to have a corpie sit in the sector in an IC permanently? Are the Imperials even subject to Interdictors, or are they immune as well as invulnerable? Question: Is it correct that a ship Interdictor can only trap other ships when occupied, so that if you Transport to some other ship, the Interdictor switches off and releases any trapped ships? Also, is it correct that if you Cloak when exiting the game, your Interdictor deactivates?

You cannot trap zyrain. You may be able to trap claussawitz or nelson with fighters around them, but I am not sure. As to interdicters, empty ships IG's are off. Cloaked ships IG's turn off.

You can trap Nelson or Clausewitz with one fighter in each sector they can warp to. They'll never leave as long as the fighters remain. Zyrain can be trapped temporarilly, but he transwarps out whenever somebody violates a Fedspace regulation (laying fighters, attacking a protected player, a non-commissioned player entering FS, etc.).
I set up a test game, put a player in an IC in deep space, turned the IG on, and put all three Feds in that sector. I put another player in FS 1 and tried laying fighters. Zyrain showed up immediately to impose his penalty. The other two didn't move in the half hour I left it idle, but it didn't say they tried to, either, and an alien came in and was held by the IG. Anyway, since you can't trap Zyrain, it wouldn't work.

Yes but how would you go about getting the other two into your gate sector. I know that Zyrain will warp out but the other two would be plenty.

When you find Nelson or Clausewitz, clear a path from their location to your door. Surround the path with figs. Put a fig behind them whenever they move. There isnt much point doing it, however. Unless you block their exit with massive figs, an enemy or the ferrs can free them, which defeats the purpose of the exercise. Only time I remember seeing it used effectively was in a bubble with a no return door and high align sector figs.
