Has anyone got data on the corelation between trade in value of a ship at the shipyard with the number of times the ship has ported? Does it just affect the trade in value of the holds, or the entire ship?

The entire ship.
The value of the figs goes down too.
For example- if I were to buy a ship, load it with figs and sell it, I would get a higher fig value than if I had been porting all over and had the same amount of figs.

I posted on this once before. Traitor, please add this to your formulas page as time allows.

http://www.tw-attac.com/TWForum/topic.a ... C_ID=11971

But to sum that up with a set of formulas...
If Ported = 0-30, sellback = .9 * Purchase
If Ported = 31-830, sellback = (.9 - ((Ported - 30) * .001)) * Purchase
If Ported > 830, sellback = .1 * Purchase

Evidently, sellback is affected by the presence of a Fusion Drive, but I'm uncertain as to how, since I've never come across a ship with one.

I checked it for a ship with a fusion drive. It's very close
to your formulae, I only ran it once, so the deviations may
be just the usual TW randomness.

ported resale %
0 90.2
10 89.5
20 89.5
30 88.7
100 81.8
200 71.8
500 42.3
800 12.8
830 10.9
1200 10.9

edit: dunno why no tabs, they even show when I edit reply?

try using the [ pre][ /pre] tags. however, tabs end up just being treated as 8 spaces in [ pre] mode as you can see below.

ported resale %
0 90.2
10 89.5
20 89.5
30 88.7
100 81.8
200 71.8
500 42.3
800 12.8
830 10.9
1200 10.9

so i recommend using spaces:

ported resale %
0 90.2
10 89.5
20 89.5
30 88.7
100 81.8
200 71.8
500 42.3
800 12.8
830 10.9
1200 10.9

this *would* work OK if spaces were the same width as numbers, but the aren't in most fonts, so its good to choose a fixed-width font, like lucinda console or courier:

ported resale %
0 90.2
10 89.5
20 89.5
30 88.7
100 81.8
200 71.8
500 42.3
800 12.8
830 10.9
1200 10.9

if you reply to this post you can see the codes i used to get it to look like that.

Okay, based on some quick testing, the pricing breaks down as follows:

Hull, Holds, Drive(normal), and Computer depreciate at .001% per Port_Count (between 30 and 830) as stated above.
A Fusion Drive however, depreciates at .00025% per Port_Count (between 30 and 830).

So to determine trade-in value for a ship w/ a Fusion Drive, you'll have to break down those 4 individual components (shown when examining and when selling in the ship yard), and calculate each accordingly.
