I was also thinking it would be good to include the programming language of the various Helpers and TW related programs,in use, to give a better understanding on how different programs work. So far I only have found a few:

TradeWars/TWGS: (not sure) Delphi and VB?
ZOC: REXX
TWX: ?
J-TWAT: Java
TWAR: ?
SWATH: ?
GATH: ?
Kokua: ?
ATTAC: ?
TWX Sync: ?
TWT: (has it been determined yet?)

SWATH - Java and REXX support
TWX - TWX
GATH - nothing that I know of

I don't think TWX and TW Sync can be classified as helpers in the same way as SWATH and ATTAC.

Or even
G - od
A - wful
T - radeWars
H - elper

Sorry, couldn't resist - GATH really isn't a bad helper, just not fully developed to the point of ATTAC or SWATH.

Oh sorry, I was referring to the actual programming language of the program/utility/helper itself, not the languages they support for scripting, I think I already got that portion included. Thanks Prom. Haa, I had forgotten all about Telix and Procomm. Telix use to one of my favorites!

ATTAC is written in C and C++. It supports the REXX language via the REGINA parser.

TWXSync is written in C++.

TWX Proxy is written in Delphi.

I'm confident that SWATH is written in java.
Likewise for Kokua.

I'm fairly certain that TW & TWGS are Delphi.

Thanks EP, TWGS is Delphi to, heh, I always thought either VB or one of the C languages was needed to write GUI in windows, (referring to the admin side.) Go figure! [;)]

I think SWATH is C++

Thanks Earth, I would have thought the only other person besides Stein that would know for sure would be you. [:D]

GATH is written in Delphi 7. After around 120 hours or so of
development time, I decided that it would not be a worthwhile
commercial venture, at least for my company, to approach the
quality of the top two.

And now with the new version (TWT) on the horizon even less reason
to invest in a new helper when the others are established. But
I met a personal goal of using my own helper and with TWX it is
all I need.

Still, that is pretty kewl, how many people get to say they made their own Helper? heh! That is something I hope to do myself one day, just because I can! ....Well once I learn how to actually build, anyways. [^]

Heh, that reminds me of a deep thought.

I wish my name was Todd, because then I could say, "Yes, my name's Todd. Todd Blankenship." Oh, also I wish my last name was Blankenship.

Er, back to the topic...
Swath is in C++? But Stein is like the uberJava programmer. That surprises me.

Yes, SWATH is written in C/C++ [:)]
It also implements Rexx (Regina) and Java JNI support
which makes it possible to run Rexx/ZOC and Java scripts.
