I have run the server before in the past and never seemed to have a log in issue.

For some reason, at this time, remote users cannot log in .. i am gettign a little frustrated and i am guessing so are the players whom hve been invite to come and play.

i need help to see what is going on.

regards

Does TWGS generate an error when coming online? Or does it seem to be online and active, yet not accepting connections?

Can you connect to the game from the same machine, but not from a remote machine?

Can you connect to the machine from another machine on a LAN, but not from the Internet?

Do you have other servers running on that machine that people are able to connect to from the Internet?

What port did you specify? What IP mode are you using? Name, address, or auto?

Wow, thanks for the response ....

I am able to log onto the Server from the same machine. It is not connected to the LAn and there are no other servers running that people can connect to from the outside.

I am not running service pack 2. It is waiting to be installed but I haven't done so yet.

It is running auto currently, but have attempted dotted and name to no avail

today i am going to post the IP address and see if that makes a difference .. 65.182.252.160

running on port 23 ... changing to port 2002 perhaps there is a conflict.

cheers

If I ping 65.182.252.160 from my machine, I don't get a connection. There's no guarantee that you would have a ping service active on the machine, but if you have TCP/IP active, it'll usually respond to ping requests. In general, it would be useful to be able to test the connection apart from TWGS to determine if it's a TWGS problem or a connection issue.

Do you have a router/firewall? I get the impression from your post that people are not able to connect at all, not that the server just isn't letting them log in. The most frequent cause of this is a misconfigured router or firewall.
