Can someone point me to a new user's guide on how to USE it. I have it loaded and other than a quick login script issue (hope to be resolved soon), I am wondering how to do the basics, like trading and mapping the universe.

Thanks!!

There's no such thing, really. Most of the help is online; start with "help" (self command or bot command).

You should also read the following, which should be part of the download:
    z-Bot Installation Notes.txt
    z-Bot_Readme_plus.txt
    Everything in ZedPack-Readme.zip

As for trading and mapping the universe, I use external scripts for both of those things (a bottable version of Xide's 2_WorldTrade, configured as an external bottable script in z-bot, for high-turns trading, and I use ProZtm4 configured as a double-tap script for mapping) which isn't to say that Zedbot doesn't have internal versions for those things, I just don't happen to know what they are.

There is so much to learn and be taught of tradewars and bot/script use.
It would be nearly imposable to do in a few tutorials in a forum.

Most is learned by doing and experimenting in a game.
Also if you were to join us or someone in a voice chat program like Team Speak 3 client , it would go so much faster that in a few months you would know enough to go out on your own and know your tools.

But for a short answer .. that is impossible because we the public do not know what you already have or type of system your on.
Let alone the many other questions that would be needed to be asked
to find out what you know of the game.

The best I can do is ask you to join us in Team Speak 3 client (free by the way) and we might get you up to speed to todays way of playing.

I hope you drop in to chat at least.

Zedbot's help system is more extensive than Mombot's and includes a search feature by typing "help" followed by one or more keywords. The capabilities of both bots are very similar, so it is a personal opinion as to which is better.

Regardless of the bot used, it is still a good recommendation to get into a game, and find someone that will show you the ropes. You may not even need a bot, unless you are playing in a perma-corp.

Ok, another newbie question. Is there a script, either in Z-Bot or SWATH that will sell stuff off a planet to a port in another sector?

No Twarp planets yet but tons of organics...

Thanks

I'm not aware of a script that will do that but, you could pop a planet in the sector that contains the port you want to sell your organics to. Then, use SWATH's resource mover (screen shot here:http://www.swath.net/windows/screen12.html I haven't actually used it) to move your organics to the planet you popped. After you have moved the desired amount of product, land on the planet. Now, use Z-Bot to sell the organics. From the Planet Command do a self bot using:

> neg o

That being said, I would just wait for the planet to reach Level 4 unless you are really hard up for cash. Furthermore, I generally only spend my turns and daily production (when it comes to cashing) on equipment. Unless the organics is free and I can just neg it, using barely any turns.

Hope this helps even though I'm way late. You probably have your level 4s by now.

If turns are not an issue , Swath has a built in product buyer but to sell it off you would need to use an extra that comes with Swath.

Grab sell , buy dump or something like that.
There are 2 scripts like that , the grab sell , dump is the one I reworked , but the grab sell is fro someone else.

Or you could write a macro with Swaths macro recorder (be sure to turn haggle off and the light bulb too)

That should do the trick.
Till you have a moble planet.
