landing on Planet causes colonists to die?

 landing on Planet causes colonists to die? Hey all, every few days I login and then land on one of my planets and notice some of my colonists who were alive and healthy before I landed are now gone...
It seems common, can anyone tell me why this happens and if there is a way to prevent it...

was there a way to prevent the deaths or just part of the game?
seems to me that is a normal occurrence, most of the time my colos are growing as normal.

Re: landing on Planet causes colonists to die? I remember it from way back when, but lately it is the reverse - the colos multiply to the point that the planet productivity starts to fall off, in a stock game. Would you please post an address that you have noticed this in, or send me a PM?
