How can I play as multiple players?
Frustrating, but then again I am quite old! Years ago, in my own registered version of TW2002, I could go in (as quasi-Sysop) and create dozens of unique characters. The TWGS version of TW won't let me create a 2nd character - once the 1st character is made, every time I log in, it goes directly to the Password request... ...can someone kindly shed some light on what switch I need to throw in the Editor, or ?, so that I can sign in and create as many new characters as I want? Best regards Marx

I am assuming that you mean Observer accounts?
Go into the user editor, create a user, and set the observer flag to "Y"

Re: How can I play as multiple players?
V'Ger, thanks for replying so fast. No, didn't mean Observer. I would like to be 2 or 3 players in my very small TW2002 game which will only be accessed by a very small family of friends to play against each other. Is there a way I can be 2 or 3 active players? Thanks M

That has to do with that setting pertaining to unique IP's at login within the TWGS setup, IIRC.

Quote: Is there a way I can be 2 or 3 active players? Provided you don't have the unique IP requirement on, just use a different name during the TWGS login. When it asks for a username before the menu, type something different in.

Re: How can I play as multiple players?
Assuming you have the server set to accept multiple sessions from one IP? Much like having multiple games running simultaineously.. (sorry, the quick easy answer.)
The way I do it is have the game server running on one computer, then I have another on the network that I set up multiple TWXProxy/Swath or TWXProxy/ZOC sessions. Just have the different twx's use different listening ports. I've set up several duped corps of 3-4 to test scripts, so I'm sure it'll work, just not sure if I'm answering your question, does this help you?

Re: How can I play as multiple players?
Crosby, et al, I have been able to jump into my 'local' game on the same computer under different aliases utilizing the Telnet command to the local IP (usually 192.168.x.xxx). So that question is resolved. Thank you all. NOW my problem is figuring out how my son in Utah can connect to my game in Colorado? I'll start a NEW POST for this one... Thanks Mark

Re: How can I play as multiple players?
In response to your side question (Friends and family from elsewhere accessing your game), you just need to set the "virtual server" on your router (I'm assuming you have one). Forward a port (perhaps 2002?) to the machine which is running the game.
If you have a static IP, you can just give out the IP. If you have a dynamic IP, "no-ip.com" can help you. You can sign up for a free account, and use their update client to keep your IP current with the domain name you select, and it's all free. (I use mine for my TWXSync server.)
