I'm playing against this guy and he's running a script; as soon as I hit one of his sector figs, he warps into a neighboring sector and photons me. Is there any way around this? I was wondering if a photon torpedo disables a sector fig so I could enter the sector undetected.

You could enter undetected if you photoned, unless he has mines or limpets there.
The photon would keep his figs from reporting, but if there's a limpet in the sector, chances are he'll still nail you.
Have you tried looking at different mower scripts?

Well, that depends...what the hell is a mower script?
Also, do limpets show up on a density scan or not?

Limps do show up on a density scan, as an anomaly.
A mower script is one that will mow through a bunch of sectors as fast as your connection and software will allow, making it harder for someone to photon you.
Do you use TWXProxy, and what helper do you use?

Knowing whats going to happen is 3/4 of your advantage.
You already know what he is doing what ship he is doing it in if you were to base your strategy on what he is going to do it would solve your issues.
Start with the circumstances and making sure your information is correct.. Knowing how to read a Density scan and what information it contains is sorta important.(anomolies =limpets or a cloaked ship) Then once your sure of those move to your options...
In your example you believe your opponent has you so you cant move. In actuality He is at more of a disadvantage running this script then you are. He doesnt know what your going to do...Where as YOU DO know what he is going to do....If this individual is in a Standard ISS he has a limit to how many Torps he can carry. Retreating from the fig in a macro will usually make them SPEND turns and a Ptorp
If there are no Mines in either of those sectors limpets or armids THEN ptorp in to where he will be arriving to ptorp U when u hit the Adjacent Fig....
Then Lay 125 Armids out and then go retreat from that fig wait for him to arrive His ptorp will explode on ur armids and he gets ptorped... kill the new sector fig and then kill him he will prolly still be there since he wont have any turns left.
Retreating from his Fig.....Eventaully this person will run out of ptorps and have to refill them But know tyour prompts..He gets a limpet message before a fig message u get a pause at Armid mines a Good lawnmow script will usually get you where u need to go....i use momb()t pretty much exclusivley right now.
It has a command that Mows pretty quick.
BUT remember if your opponent knows what your doing he will try to adjust as well Lord knows I've died more then most.

Is this a turn game or an unlim game? I would also ask if you are certain he is warping his ship next to you and torping and not using a planet drop with adjacent torp. I am guessing that he isn't really after a ship-to-ship fight or he would be SDing you - maybe he is, I don't know.

Oso...to answer your question I'm using TWXProxy. Also I should mention that I'm terribly inexperienced with helpers and scripts and such.
SG, some good advice there but probably something I'll need to practice on. I have a feeling that if this guy nails me again I'll never make it back to my base and I'll effectively be out of the game.
One more question...if I'm in a tunnel with my base behind me and the next two sectors out have his figs in them (I'm assuming they must be for his script to work)...if worse comes to worst my pod would escape back into my base wouldn't it? If he dropped a planet on me?

Promethius...I'm not sure about the planet thing. All I really know for sure is that when I hit his figs a ptorp hits me.
This is a turn game...5k per day.

Just be thankful that I let you live even after getting my planet under you. If you'd like some help, hit me up in game....

Mighty Mouse, what helper do you use with TWXProxy?

Best way to keep from getting killed in an agressive game is to either learn how to script/macro faster then he is, kill him before you hit his figs, or wait till he's offline to grid or trade. I can grid all day against anyone unless they have a lot of mines out and are targeting limpet/armid hits. Another words, if there is no mines in the sector, and you macro in and out of the sector with no delay, you can kill the fig and he won't be able to stop you. Here's a macro as an example. Lets say his fig is in sector 843, it's not a one way sector, and there is only 1 fig there. This macro would work "843^Ma99^M<" This will kill the fig and bring you back to your original sector before he has time to photon you. You could also retreat, but I've found out that retreating has a slight delay and it actually is faster to kill the fig instead. If you have a corpie, and he has save-me running from an L6 planet, you could even turn the tables on him. I don't want to get you confused tho. That's step 28 and we are on step 1.

I wouldn't say this is an aggressive game. It's pretty much just him and me. Thank you all for the good advice. Most of it was way over my head and I'll have to work on it in a practice game or something. I think I'll just try the photon to get past his sector figs.
Thanks again!
