I want to have a decent menu when a player logins to my server. Right now it is just the Trade Wars default. What do I need to use to create a cool menu and where/how do I start? Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond. |

TheDraw is the original favorite, but you would have to run it in DOSBOX... I guess PabloDraw is your best bet for Windows... I just Googled "ANSI editors", and there are a lot I haven't heard of... I use notepad, but that requires an advanced understanding of ANSI codes... Under "command center/config/server settings", uncheck "Default" next to the Startup and/or Description menu settings. You can then create the "intro.ans" and/or "desc.ans" files in your program folder. You can also specify a game info file under "command center/config/games settings/info file" You can't specify a logon or logoff screen... You would need an actual BBS if you want to go that far... |

I have been trying a few of the new ANSI editors. Sixteen Colors http://draw.sixteencolors.net/ HTML 5 browser based editor - Interesting, but it doesn't seem to be able to save as an ANSI file. SyncDraw http://syncdraw.bbsdev.net/ Multiple platforms - The windows version looks pretty easy to use. You can draw boxes easily using the outline option and there is a draw mode. Documentation is missing, but I managed to figure out esc brings up the main menu and you can save in a variety of formats. TetraDraw http://sourceforge.net/projects/tetradraw/ appears to be linux only. RexPaint http://rexpaint.blogspot.com/p/download.html Not downloading... The download is packed with RAR... and I refuse to download it... It looks incredible though... Probably better than Pablo Draw... TundraDraw http://sourceforge.net/projects/tundrad ... p_redirect Well documented and easy to use... No advanced features though... |

I really like PabloDraw. To see some very nice ansi work, look at the description for game M on my server. Mongoose is the artist. |
