I think you would actually like the game if you took the time to learn it. You have the programming skills to understand it.
It is not a mater of programming skill. It is a matter of the fact that you are no longer playing TradeWars and I have no intention of ever playing ScriptWars. I will continue to enable ScriptWars by updating TWXP, but I just have no interest in learning the mechanics of MS timing. I even plan on writing a bot in C# for the new TWX3, but everything I write is public.

I was thinking that it would make sense to have a built-in bot in twx3, optional of course in case you want to make your own; but it would be easy to have the proxy itself handle the subspace comms and execute commands that are scripts in a directory. It makes sense to me to have the proxy handle the command processing and execution, authentication, etc.

Yeah, there are a lot of public commands that could be handled this way, and of coars you can easily asdd your private stuff too.

Okay, this is where you go completely off the rails. I'm actually surprised you admit this - I have heard this accusation against you many times, and while I was not here when this occurred (so I was always just assuming there was some truth to it but it was overblown), apparently it was correct. You actually asked for server side toggles to interfere with scripts because you didn't like that people were able to beat you? That doesn't sound like cheating to you? Or maybe you are going to argue that you were trying to protect other players and not you, but even so, then you are just doing it out of spite -- which is just as bad.

Ever heard "if you can't beat them, join them"? Learn to code. Or find a scripter -- hell, you have (had?) xanos, etc. But crippling a game to avoid having to deal with new strategies is not something I'd be proud of. </quote>

<quote “Cruncher”>

Look at my sig please, I’ve been on many winning tournament teams. The toggles I wanted is for the server I ran so I could offer games up to players who DID NOT want to play ScriptWars. Believe it or

not, there are still players who prefer to play TradeWars. I only hosted my server once the toggles were created. From time to time some of them show up in Tournament games to give you scripters a new toy to work around. I.E. eprob delays. But, the majority of the toggles aren’t used in tournament games, and I still played them and won. </quote>

<quote “Cruncher”>

Then we defeated Vid Kid and Kool Breeze's team. and once again my team was on the top of the heap.<end quote>

<quote “Shadow”>

You sure do like to take a lot of credit for the work of others.

I know you were on those teams, but "your team" is a stretch, considering some of the people who played with you (and some of whom still play) were far superior players, strategists, scripters, and well, everything else. </quote>

<quote “Cruncher”>

Every teammate has their strengths and weaknesses. Xanos was scripting, mine was team management and recruiting. A good manager will recruit those with more skills then they have, so thanks! Our corp was always very democratic and fun! We all had a say and input, but it was usually Xanos who had the final say, even though he would tell you he wasn’t the leader of the team. Hammer & MD’s team is also a lot of fun, and even though I was just a bot, they did take some of my suggestions, and I learned how to use Discord. I hear you are much too serious and not much fun to play with, is that true? </quote>

I always felt that if I continued working on TWX Proxy, the next step was going to be working on completely automated adaptive play. I was looking at ways to tie together small neural nets with broader scripts, maybe something that could track the abilities of individual players so it could learn to counter them between games. It would have been a pretty cool experiment that would have resulted in something either frightfully dangerous to play against, or something hilariously stupid (much like most of our present 'AI').

...

You should see what Hammer and MD have done with their bot. Granted, I've only seen the corpie bot version, but they create "teams" within their corp and assign teammates to a team. Such as, red team, blue team, defense team etc. and that streamlines botting everyone at once. Sort of like a TW orchestrated dance, within each team the members are numbered so they don't have to reset their matrix each time they run team sdt as an example.
