Another Players Question wrote: I think that if a player doesn't get on a corp within a few hours that account should be deleted. We've had several tournaments that allowed non corp players to interfer with the game by taking out grid, targeting players on corps, providing ztm's to a certain corp, etc. This is just like having an extra corp member in the first few days and shouldn't be permitted. I see the point, but question how I can enforce this. I'm not going to be sitting at the computer monitoring new players for 8 days till the game closes. Suggestions anyone?

I could perhaps, if someone wanted to write it as I'm not even close to enough of a scripter to attempt this, run a sweeper that looks at the players about once an hour or two, and deletes those players not associated with a team. This could be an inconvenience to a player who logs in just before the script fires and runs, but they could in turn re-enter again and join the corp they desired, or be deleted again in an hour.

Yes, pre-registration and close the game from the beginning. You'll have a dbase of all registered teams, their logon's and in-game names and passwords. And since the player base is so small why not just adopt team aliases? So you get to decide who's who to set it up. Example - Team Kraaken: Player 1 - K1 Player 2 - K2 Player 3 - K3... Example - Team Silver Wings Player 1 - SW1 Player 2 - SW2 Player 2 - SW3... etc...Then the players are responsible to tell you which login is theirs and what their pass word is. Super top secret stuff! Then, rather than close the game in 8 days, it will be closed to begin with, then you can delete the players who never showed up after 8 days.

May be easier to write a script to create players and passwords.

I'm going to rebang the practice game today (pretty much as soon as this is posted) so any teams or players wanting to check out the game, and the edits are welcome to enter the game and play. The game is subject to rebang at any time however as we work out details for the final edit, not that any changes are currently in the works.

 Re: *** Official BOTE 2011 Thread ***
For those interested. I've opened the BOTE edit on the V2 server as Game B runawayproton.dyndns.org:223
This is the same edit with the exception of turning tournament settings and death limits off.
I stress this is NOT the tournament game, simply the edit we are using for it running on the Version 2.13 software if you care to check it out.

I'm still turning off delays in that edit.

I'm puzzled that nobody seems to have a problem that a gameop made a private arrangement with a Corp to bang a Tourney of long standing with settings according to their dictates. Now we have the gameop even further pandering to that corp, asking what additional settings they would like. This is ludicrous. Particularly since said corp have publicly boasted that the version that they have inveigled the gameop to use has bugs that they know and use, which most of the rest of us do not (either know or use, even if we knew them) Am I missing something here? I will do as usual and vote with my feet. Ugh.

I did finally connect to your 1.03 server, and game B was not an option, so I tried the v2 server and found "a" Bote practice game. SD is locked down, running ZTM now. Hehe..
