If you drop on top of someone after they hit one of your figs, and you are in a ship with an Interdictor. If they don't kill the fig, can they escape the Interdictor by simply retreating?

This happened to me yesterday and it surprised me that they got away.

Yes, you can retreat away from a ship IG. You can not retreat away from a planet IG.

Well that makes a lot of sense... interdictor is an interdictor.

The "science" here is that a ship's Interdictor generator is -far- weaker than a planetary interdictor generator (thus why a planet uses 500 ore every time the PIG activates and a ship uses no ore).

You can still retreat off a ship's IG off a fighter in revision 55.

Hey, I'm a n00b, I started playing last year for a while when my college buddies asked me (I'm still a senior in High School) and since then my best freind and I have become very interested in the game. Anyhoo, I am n00b so I'm not sure if I'm right on this but an IG, whether planetary or not doesn't stop transporters/planetary t-warps, so if ur in a ship with a decent transport range u can always just transport out or have a corp member tow a ship to the next sector for u to get into. If you REALLY like your ship and u have a lvl 4 planet I think you can go ahead and simply defeat all the fighters in the sector, drop one of your own, transport out, bring in your planet, use the planetary transporter to get the ship you're using out, then transport into the ship that's stuck and planetary transwarp out. It's complicated and in most stock games I would think that it's not worth it, unless its a REALLY beefed up ship but it does work . . . at least in the games I've played. Well, that was my first post, hope it helps.

This is correct. The steps you mentioned would work...

For being a "n00b" you seem very on the ball! All these things will work. The best situation would be you're on a corp, and your corpmate is online. You get trapped, drop a fig (exit and reenter game quickly to attack figs deployed by another corp/player), and your corpie warps the planet right in. You land, and then the planet driver gets you both out of Dodge. Unless of course, you want to load up on figs and take out the bad guy.

Granted, the situations get a lot more complicated than outlined above, but that's the general idea.
