Thanks to my friends over at 21-6 Productions, who are letting me host a TWGS on their servers, I have a beta server up and running. So anyone who's interesting in helping my by hammering this thing, you can connect to

telnet://twgs.21-6.com

And post any reports of odd behavior. Not bugs that are well known. We'll get to those. This is just a test to make sure the code I'm starting with is as stable as the last release. It has some minor changes that I don't think will effect anything, but I just need a sanity check.

As soon as I feel this is stable, I already have a new revision ready to go with some fixes and changes, and I'll put it up there for testing.

Thanks!

For future reference, you might want to fix some of the settings. It'll be difficult to really
hammer it with the current ones.

Max commands 4?
Gold disabled?
750 colo regen?
New player planets?
3% debris clear?
Production rate 5?!?
Clear busts 7 days?
Rob delay TRUE!?! (can't hammer it for stability with that, alone)
5k sectors
Rad clear 14 days?!

Can't give it a real stability test w/ those settings.

Yeah, stock settings right now. SG is going to admin this but I haven't been able to reach him this afternoon. I can change those. What do you suggest?

Ok, got it. Let me know if any other settings need changing.

Thanks!

Maybe some slight ship mods? like a holo scanner for the colt? That way I could put it to work cashing... If you can get me a planet with a cit to cash to (since this is not an actual comp game, just a test) I can leave my wsst running as long as my computer will stay logged in over the weekend.. (not going to be home much) I will be out for the night in about 3 more hours.

20 on max commands is better, but I believe I can hit that max fairly easily. I tend to like 50 or more, but then I play unlims which are usually cash and kill.

I should be able to have wsst running by the time I leave, but not sure how long it will go. I will find somewhere and pop a planet, if you want to up it just high enuf for a cit, that way I can cash to it non stop... (not even sure if this will help you find out what you are looking for, but... let me know)

I'd prefer to avoid edits because I want this to be a test of how the game plays under normal circumstances as much as possible. Not really a stress test of any particular thing, just to find out if there are any new, strange behaviors. And I don't expect there to be. Not until I upload a new version with some real changes.

I understand. I'd just rather the planet reach the point of cashing on its own, that way that process is being tested as well. Is that just not going to happen?

I'm sorry, but I'm trying to start playing again. I have SWATH and would like to log in and play and help test, but I'm not really sure of how to configure it for that. Most of the time, I played on my own computers.

Do I enter "telnet://twgs.21-6.com" into the Hostname/IP section? If so, every time I try to connect, I get connection failed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If you are just using Swath, create a new game (File > New) Try games A or B to start with. ( Games G, H, and I are 30k sectors and still in the testing phase (the current version of SWATH (1.94) doesnt support 30k sectors
