I think that I should NOT edit the post's title and here is some of my reasons I took a confrontational attitude to get attention (guess what it worked) Stein and I exchanged about 10-15 emails and not till he accused me of photo shopping a post did anything get close to resolved. I might have given him the incorrect generated serial number but in all honesty here are the 2 serial #'s This serial # is the one that was causing problems as I found it in several of email exchanges. 105A-0BFD-5E99-23CC-B78D-2B5B-F463-1731 Here is the new generated one that was generated using an updated program from their copy-protection scheme that was generated today 105A-0BFD-5E99-23CC-B78D-8718-4B0B-1731 The problem was partially being misunderstood and I probably was as much to blame as I have stated in previous posts I was an Butthole and I suffered the consequences. Having a problem with a TradeWars Helper, I posted it to the correct forum it was moved and until someone dissed me in smack did we start to make progress in getting to a solution and even that took 12-15 posts and an unfounded accusation of photo-shopping did we start to get results. Am I happy with the results ? YES Am I happy with what I had to go through to get same results? NO Bottom line is my choice of subject titles and the forum admin's choices of moving posts are history and if I caved in and modded my post title it would not fully reflect the true nature of this experience. And one more time before I step off my soapbox for a couple of days It is a sorry state that people were thinking of banning me because I stirred up a hornets nest in my effort to get this resolved. For the people that stood on the sideline keeping an open mind and the people that just wanted a successful solution to my problem I thank you all For the people that dissed me and threw this discussion into smack I also thank you for ticking me off enough to continue stirring up the hornets till I got results. For the people that sided with Stein at the Altar of Swath Worship .... Kiss my grits (Thank you Flo) |

Absolutely, thats cool man... Sorry if I misunderstood the resolution, thought water under the bridge was a good way to end the night. It is your subject and I definitly respect that:) Guess my outlook on the subject was different, which is fair since I didn't actually have to go through all the mess. Like I stated Im glad you got it worked out, as for all the banning subject who ever suggested it should think twice before stepping up to the plate on that one. This is a game that is slowly fading if we start banning people because they want to voice their opinions I won't have anything to do once my kids go to college:P In the end, I have spoke with you a couple times and you seem cool. So I hope you didn't take my opinion personal because I didn't mean it in a "SUPPORT SWATH 4 LIFE" way. Good luck with everything! -mob |

Dude, I completely understand. My only suggestion is to split your posts next time. Put your venting posts in smack and your question posts where they belong. Its dumb to lump them together. It takes 4 times as long to get help because it takes longer to get over the "F&%^K that guy" feelings. Stein's got more patience than I do. And apparently you do too. Helix |

meh, considering how the whole thing went down, the actual title of your post serves it well. You had a Swath related issue which you felt wasn't be dealt with to your satisfaction. You really proceeded in the only fashion available to the general public; vent about it to the community at large. After a few days in the current events stack, your thread will join the hundreds of archived inactive threads. It will only be of interest if someone else goes lookin' to see if they are the only ones to get the 'up-the' impression from Team Swath. (btw did you go looking if anyone else complained about this or similar Swath problems?) When someone finds your thread, they will find that you had a problem, and it eventually worked out. They will see that Stein is a member here too, and follows up on problems personally, yet is doing the Swath thing part-time for probably less than break even. Leave the title. The other issues with swath are for different threads. I'm amazed that Swath is still so well supported after, what? Ten years? As for mods moving stuff, it's better than getting your post deleted or edited/censored. I like the higher standard that EP keeps in the Helper/Script forum. |
