Lmao, just kidding, usually they would have sent someone, it is odd they haven't. Anyway now that I am bringing up my TWGS again, I hope to gain enough player base to sponsor a team next time. Also sponsor a team for other tournies as well.

I'm affraid I started something here and I need to correct it. I mistakenly said that winning team pickes edits somewhere, and it caught on. Tradition was that winning team picks SERVER not the edit. I'm hoping to be able to continue to host BOTE into future years.

It has always been MOL stock, leave it alone. Cause we all know Big D's word is golden. Someone needs to checking the settings, I could have sworn he said he was banned!!

Next year when the only corp that show is boy toys, and you guys end up cancelling it, the winners from this year either us or krakken can have someone else host a more up todate edit. Bote isnt a copy writed name so, should be an issue:] You guys are confusing real life with a 25 year old BBS text game! LOL You can host and play all the modern edits you want. Is Big D still going to host the Ice Tournament? Does he still have a server with valid codes? Why don't you guys worry about your more modern edit January tournament and stop making idol threats about who may or may not be playing B.O.T.E. next year and what the settings should be. B.O.T.E. Is one one annual event that tests your skills on a stock edit. IMHO the stock edit is the one most everyone knows the best. If we get this back to what it once was, with teams coming from multiple servers rather than just a couple of perma corps, then the stock edit makes sense. Not every player is experienced in every edit, so using the stock edit levels the field and now only the player skills are tested. And, it's going to be up to the sysops to actively recruit teams from their servers. Vulcan said he would like to sponsor a team next year. I think this is where it's going to have to start, with the sysops promoting and encouraging teams. It's going to be interesting to see who wins this year.

I am all about tradition, we honor and pride ourselves on it in the navy all the time, but you don't see us fighting the war on terrorism the same as we fought it it ww1,ww2, Korea, and Vietnam? Accept the changes the game has made and move on with it already!!!!!! I agree we accept the changes the game has made and only host games on the newest "updated 2.13+" version available. Minor tweaks this edit would probably not upset a lot of people but as tradition each tournie has it's own feel. So keeping it MOL stock for 1 tournament a year is just a throw back game. TheButcher wrote: Next year when the only corp that show is boy toys, and you guys end up cancelling it, the winners from this year either us or kraaken can have someone else host a more up to date edit. Whenever we have sent a team is was only to have fun and corp with some new people. We don't take the game as serious as others but enjoy spending time playing a game we enjoy. The other corps playing might want to read some of the site rules as they apply to "all" games on RP's site. http://www.runawayproton.com/COC.htmlSmall Snippet - General Rules For All Games: *I ask that players refrain from making foul or crude language on open FedComm.

Bote isnt a copy writed name so, should be an issue:] I posted this same thing below in the other forum. If you are all about tradition Butcher, then you also should know you learn things from the warefare of the past and can apply that to the warfare to today for if you don't remember the lessons of the past you are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past, no matter what the warefare of today is. These words come from General George S. Patton. I also am a Navy man, and well aquainted with the traditions. I do however have a question for you Butcher: Are you a Shellback? If you are then you should know the appropriate answer. For the others that question is just for fun and between sailors who know what it means. But the statement before that holds true in any content, you have to know the history and have the ability to use that history to apply to any situation of today to be able to have the full ramifications of any situation, and yes the tactics sometimes do change in battle, but without the knowing the past, how would you begin to know how to change those tactics, things can always be learned from the past, that is why the military has their wargames and such to play out past scenarios, present scenarios, and possible future scenarios, to see what tactics will work and where they will work. Because sometimes even in todays warfare tactics you will find that something from the past may work better, and there are many different tactics from many different wars that work for todays time. as for instance some of what is used in what is going on today was used in early to mid Viet Nam and were adapted for tactics for today. As well as some from WWII, good tactics never die, they get used where they are needed and where they fit in, in the grand scheme of things. The same can be said for the BOTE as well, traditions are things that should be preserved, for without them then what is the point. Vulcan.

Thanks Cruncher, I have hosted a few teams in the past when my TWGS was active, and now hope to host more being that i have both TWGS running I wonder if I can host 2 teams, now that I have 2 sets of codes? No matter I will be glad to be able to host one team anyway.

I've heard that Fedcom is getting rather crude. I do not approve of this. If you want to talk foul language, or gay comments, keep it in subspace, not in public. Clean it up guys. This type of "chat" tends to turn players away. I like to keep things family friendly. I don't like using the language myself. I know it's closed game, but not everybody likes reading it, and the rules of my site have always said to keep it clean.

Not that the rules don't allow it, but it's not common so the rules weren't really written for this. Having two teams would in my oppinion promote asset sharing and it would be pretty much like having a team of 10 in a game with corp limits of 5 players are in place. RP
