Thanks for digging this up. I'm posting it here because every time I've gone back to try and reference something in past BOTE's it seems to have disappeared. Perhaps 2012 we can use some of the above settings for the edit. If I read it correctly it has a few more turns, but fewer Cit's. (7 Corporations!) I do however see aliens, and not sure that's a good idea for a tournament, but it could add an interesting dynamic.

The game started with 15 Teams I believe, each team was allowed 6 members to run in whatever mega corp configuration they wanted. (Pre-Mega Rob) The sponsor had to be indicated in the corp name. You see the below caps, and the "V" Screen you posted are from 8/17/98, the game started on 7/4/98 The game was aged 100 days to start. After 44 days of playing we were down to 7 corps, 2 of which were ours. Yeah, the Aliens, I don't know if it was possible to turn them off in the old HVS MBBS version. We'd have to ask a sysop currently running 2.03. I don't see why having them active (non-gold) would hurt anything. Aliens have always been our non-discriminating grid busters. Nothing wrong with that, unless you were playing a game that scored on % of grid layed.

I haven't read all that is in this thread but can give this info, I knew Zoobar and Maverick personally, as I have played with them a long time ago, Mav Comet and I along with Undertaker used to be on a team together, with my little brother, Incubus, and knew when they made the Battle Of The Elite game, also on the 2005 BOTE I hosted that one.
Also for all to know the spirit of the teams from the servers weren't that the teams played exclusively on that server, that wasn't the case, the servers in question, were asked to be the sponsors of the teams playing in the BOTE, but on the same note the servers had to prove they were legal servers by proving they had valid and verifiable codes for those servers. I still have my codes, but haven't had an active server in a while, That may change sometime soon though.
I will be assisting RP on the Game Op duties for the BOTE this year, he came to me and asked if I would help, and I said yes I would.
So if there are no objections from anyone on this I will be there as a game op as well on the BOTE. But whether there are any objections or not, I will still be there, and will have fair judgement on the game.

Okay for all BOTE Players, I have opened up a BOTE Practice game on my TWGS for you all to get some practice in before the BOTE begins, it should be set to the settings that RP had set for the BOTE. When you all log in notify me on PM and when everyone for the BOTE is logged in I will close the game, and delete anyone who doesn't belong, by verifying names to the current BOTE teams list. Unless we have a new team or to joining the BOTE then they need to contact me and/ or RP prior to logging into the practice game.

RP - I was wanting to test a few things in the practice game, but it looks as if Kraaken has the game full. Can you rebang it and set a rule so they can't block everyone else out of the game. Others might like to test some settings on your server as well. 1 Login should be sufficient for testing, if not can you take it down completely as there is no reason others can't get in on your public server If they need a locked game I believe Vid has a server they could test on?

RP is still on the road and may be out there for a while and I will see if I have access to the practice game he has running, and if I do have access to that game I will see what I can do, if I don't have access to the practice game then I do have one running on my TWGS that should be identical to the BOTE that will be opening up on the first.
