Hello, I am a new player and wanted to cloak in a game. So I bought a cloaking device, but could not find the command to activate it. I looked through all the menus I could find, but maybe I am just missing it.

Any help is appriciated.

You can only be cloaked while offline. If you have a cloaking device, it asks you if you want to activate it when you log off. You decloak when you log back in. The device is consumed when you use it.

When you have a cloaking device in inventory, when you quit the game it will ask if you want to cloak.

The cloak may fail - default setting is 3% fail rate.

And if the game has photons enabled, a photon hit will disable your cloak while you are off line.

Others can "see" you cloaked on a density scanner if the density is 0 relative tho the other objects in your sector, but will have a yes on the anomoly reading.

So, the safest way to cloak is to have a friend verify that you have once you've logged off if there is a fail setting, and cloak in fed space. The default setting for firing photons does not allow photons to be fired in fed space.

Fed space is the sector where Star Dock is, and sectors 1 - 10. I recommend sectors 2-10 since there is usually more traffic at SD and Terra.

The guys are right, you can only cloak as you exit the game, not while you're playing it.
