I thought there was a shortcut phrase or a bride that could be paid to get SAME DAY info from Grimy on a wandering trader. But I forgot this trick. Anyone remember?

yup, sure do
enter tavern, talk to grimy, ask about "trader", grimy asks for a small payment, then grimy asks "which trader", you give the name, and grimy asks for more cash, you give, then grimy gives you a port number that the trader docked at and how long ago they docked.
- 2 ways to block the information (i think)

1.) after trading .... transport to a ship not used for trading
2.) fig the port before docking

Is that what you mean?

Yes, that is correct. BRIBE, usually takes about 100k to be effective, then TRADER

Bribe only returns information from unfigged ports.

Last I checked, it also works via shipname, which is
an issue if everyone has a similar ship name or uses
The Merchant Marines.

Actually I was told that Grimey tracking works by ship number now instead of ship name. That's something that really can't be tested, maybe JP can elaborate more on it.
