years ago i was taught by a dynamite player to ride the shields in your Interdictor Cruiser.
That player was ... Jester
but we only rode the shields to sectors we owned.
I since have seen attempts to ride enemy shields...
this is how:

- two sectors with enemy figs
- the enemy is pwarp photoning with abandon
- I photon under the two sectors and lay my IC, twarp out of enemy sector
- I transport to IC
- my corpie induces the enemy pwarp photon by hitting the adjacent enemy fig and retreating
- planet arrives, takes it's shot and i attempt to land on the planet
- i get the message... your ship is too big... yada yada yada
- the enemy planet leaves sector for return home, with me at the prompt... I am transported wth the enemy planet.

That is as far as i have gotten. I need to know the sequence of events that will occur when i drop from the prompt and hit the enemy home sector.
The idea is: The enemy rarely uses the front line planets for photon work, so usually you would be moved to less defended sectors within their bubble. Next I attempt to exit/enter and kill the single sector fig... lay my own fig and pwarp your killer planet deep into their home.

I got to... got to... got to, know what happens and is this an accurate account of the technique.

It is but your macro may need testing...have a corpie set up a personal planet and test your macro.

IF they pull the shields and u clear prompt..the cannons go off,,,then u hit fig prompt..YOu must retreat off shields and u will be in there sector but don't except your pod to flee correctly.

got it!
the down side of "Leapfrog Planet Defence" is the fact that a smart enemy would not kill all shield (just sub 200)... but the solution was indentified by Parrothead (in "ride the shields" topic).

Solution:

when enemy attacks the shields, the planet drops back one sector... suddenly your corpie pulls the shields and the cannons blast the enemy into a pod.. "PULL the SHIELDS". Then all things happen according to the planned strategy.

Way Cool !!!

just goes to show, if you keep tossing around an idea.... your sure to get a solution.

The cannons go off only when you hit "space or enter"

I have been fotoned off this prompt without damage and rescued by Uncle Sam in a big chess game.
