I used to think they were quite heavy, then I watched as I saw a corp go mixed alignment and didn't notice they had any huge adverse effectes on their exp. I have however seen huge losses in the first game I played here recenly. Then I dug up my old notes and blew the dust off.

What I have in my notes is on a mixed corp you take the lowest align player /4 = Exp loss for each corp member.
OK I thought what was easy enough, no big loss my lowest aligned corpie is under 2k.

Now that my red alignment has shot up we're not getting a penalty at all, so my question is where's the tipping point?

Now that I think of it, the first game where I saw big losses with mixed corp was when the blue had the higher alignment.

Has it always been this way? I don't remember ever playing mixed corps in the past, but we would have red/blue teams working together.

Yes, the higher the blues alignment the more experience the players on that corp will lose at extern. I'm not sure exactly what the figure is, but after a blues alignment gets so high on a mixed alignment corp, everyone will lose 100% of their experience.

Take the highest blue, lowest red. Of those two, take the one with the less "extreme"
alignment (higher if red, lower if blue). Take that, divide by 4. That's the experience
lost at extern. This only applies to people that are not #SD#.

So if you've got a blue with 2000 align and a red with -50,000, you can expect to
lose 500 exp.

OK.. here's what we have, and when you say high and low are you talking about exp then alignment or only align?

Exp. Align.
26,369 -125,347
13,617 1,658
12,926 -20,495
5,041 1,741

So, we should have lost 1,658/4 = 414 exp, each. But instead we each went up one point each. That's why I'm thinking there's another factor involved.

Align.

Your lowest low is -125347. Your highest high is 1741. The least "extreme" of
those is 1741. 1741/4 = 435. Provided nobody is #SD# (#SD# people don't count
in the math), you stand to lose 435 exp.

Provided everyone is on the same corp and nobody is dead, there isn't.

OK we should have lost experience, but we didn't. We're all alive and on the same corp. Thanks for the link.
