Here are some pointers for the new people. 1. Choose your game. ie don't jump into a game that has been going on for a more than a day, you will just be killed. Your best bet is to start in a game right when it is rebanged. Learn about the edits you are playing, BEFORE you play them. 2. Never, never hit someone else's fig. It just tell them where you are so they can come and kill you. Be a ghost, density scan in every sector and if you get ANY density reading above zero then holoscan. 3. Get and use a helper like Swath, the combination of Swath and TWXProxy is considered the best when it comes to helpers. 4. Ask questions, not in the game but in the forums at the servers at which you play. Ignore the morons. Don't whine about getting killed. Instead ask, what mistake did I make to get myself killed. Remember if you died it was because of something you did or something you should have done but didn't do. 5. Remember this is a war game, its object is to kill. Thats why they call it Tradewars. 6. Corp up. Join with other players, it serves 2 purposes, you get to know the players you play with AND two players are harder to kill than one player. 7. Play low turn games to start. They are slower and once you get good at playing in a low turn game it is easier to play the higher turn games. 8. Improvise, adapt, overcome. Don't stay locked into a mindset that gets you killed at every turn. Be paranoid because we are, in fact, out to get you! Remember, be a ghost. And ask lots of questions in the forums.
