I've noticed a lack of players in the lower turn games or late, but I see new members to message group, which suggest new players. I know some people don't like to play with the more experienced players because they just get slaughtered, and it isn't much fun.

Well, this is the chance to rectify this. I am organized a pro/am game. This game will be setup with 5-6 man corps, running lower turns. Basically each team will have 2-3 experienced players, and 2-3 players who are looking for training, experience, and general game knowledge. I have started contacting people who are experienced players, as well as individuals known for their teaching skills.

The pro players are going to need to agree to let the gridding, invading, major combat go to the newer players, and sit back and do more of the relaxed furbing, farming, and directing.

This is a great opportunity for many of the newer players to get a chance to learn from people in an environment that encourages fun, as well as a chance to learn from some of the best.

I know some people just won't play in a game when they don't have a chance against the major players. So this is the chance. Please send me email at Jhereg151@yahoo.com if you are interested. I would really like to see many people get the chance to learn from all of the great players, and go from being the guy who is the "noob who dies" to someone who understands what they did wrong, and how to correct it.

There is not bang date, I am expecting it will take me awhile to organize it all. The server is undetermined, if none of the major servers want to host it, I will open my closed server for it. The initial game will be lower turns, more stock like ships, and probably faster citadel times, and a few ship mods.

If there is a large interest, I'll continue to set these up, for as long as people are interested. Maybe changing to more heavily edited style games to teach how to analyze edits.

I know it was a long post, but I really feel strongly about this. I want people to get a chance to learn the strategy about the game. Some people may not be interested, and I respect that, but please spread the word to people who may not read this.

Great Idea...

I am good at unlimited turn games, but I lack in turn based games.
I personally, would like to play in that kind of game so i can learn turn based a lot better. One bad thing, is scripts. most scripts eat turns, unless there made for turn games. those are not as easy to get either.
Elite just opened his server, im not sure on how many games he has running or his plans, but im sure if its in a few weeks or so down the road, i can ask him to host a game for this. his server seems to be running pretty good. maybe one minor issue to fix, but shouldnt be to hard.

Again, Great Idea....

Yah know guys, I have gotten very little feedback. Now that means 1 of 2 things.

1.) All the people who we hear in games complain that they don't stand a chance, and can't compete, etc. And end up dropping or CBYing don't really mean it, or don't care.

or

2.) They aren't seeing the thread. So if peeps know people who would benefit, forward them the link please. I have maybe 6 people who are interested, we could do it with 6, but it would be much better to get 10-20 newer players.

I'd be very interested in learning from some of the pros that pod me all the time. I mostly play red, and have owned a newbie game or two in my day, but really can't compete on the more competitive servers. If your still trying to set that up, I'd be really interested.

I would definitely take advantage of this as I know that I have a lot to learn about the advanced strategies of the game. Count this 'Am' in.

I would like to be in the pro/am. I struggle to do well against the big guys. I am fairly new and would love to learn from the "pros".
