if stardock gets destroyed(I didn't know that was possible), does it come back on its own, and if so, how long does it usually take to do so?

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean the world's not out to get you.

In a stock game, StarDock will be rebuilt every 14 days. If it is destroyed on Day 15, it'll reappear on day 28. If it is destroyed on Day 13, it'll be rebuilt at extern of day 14. The radiation lifetime, which is what the rebuilding of StarDock goes by, is sysop configurable however.

Also, the sysop can immediately rebuild StarDock by logging in as an observer and porting at the destroyed StarDock.

How can you find out what the radiation lifetime is?

At the main game menu (after you select the game letter from the TWGS menu but before you press T to play the game), type "*" and then press enter. You'll get a whole lot of information that no Trade Wars player should be without. Use your scrollback and find the settings called "Radiation Lifetime" and there's your answer.

Ok, in the game I'm playing in, Stardock was destroyed by someone ~3 days ago, I think, but I am not sure. It was either destroyed yesterday or the day before. For some reason, the logs seem to not be present... one way or the other, I can't go back through the logs. I wish I could figure out when it was destroyed, so that I could get in and get a new ship... I have GOT to get out of this Merchant Cruiser.

Well, I got you out of your MC :P In the game I think you are talking about (coastgames - a), SD will be back tonight at extern. The reason you can't go back in the logs is because he has his log size limit set really low (I think). Also, I would suggest against playing this game, as it is 50 days old with 12 million fighters, and that number goes up by at least 500k/day

Just because I have no chance of winning doesn't mean that it's not valuable to play...

typically, in a game that old, it's not a matter of not winning, it's a matter of not living for for any extended length of time.

This is true, but at least it gives me someplace to test the helper I'm using to see if it is the one for me.
