is there anyway to join a corp that contains an opposite alignment player? or do you have to start the same alignment and then switch alignments after?

To be more clear, the alignment you must be concerend with is the average corp alignment. To expand my previous example, lets say you have 3 people on a corp. 2 reds at -15k align, and 1 blue at +15k align. The average of that is -15k align right? Well, if you are blue and you want to join you are kind of screwed. You could join if one red was #SD# and the blue was say 15,002 align, and the living red was -15,000 align, because the corp align would then be 1. Do you understand my example? If not I can try address specific questions with my example, or with one you can provide. At any rate, if you are interested in my advice, I would say, in my example, it would be cheaper to have the blue CBY and come back at -10 align, join the corp, then take money from the reds and go back blue, rather than bear the expense of a red CBY and getting the red's exp back up, assuming they have high exp and are making lots of money...

That, or have the other person be #SD# when you join. The game only counts your alignment if you are alive, so if there are 2 people, one is blue with positive 15k align, and one is red with -15k align, and the blue is ceo of the corp, he can CBY and then the red can join it...
Actually .. anyone can join that corp
15k-15k=0/2=0
so it's a neutral corp

No .. -5k
-15k-15k+15k = -15k/3=-5k
