i have herad there are some tehcniques to increase the odds of getting one of the rarer planets. but never any details as to how.

One technique i've used is to fill the sector to it's max, blow up the worst planet and create a new one. then repeat.

onther poster on another board said there is a better way, but was not giving details, anyone know?

Yes , just overload the sector by 2 or 3 and create a n/h and that should get you those special planets.
Just takes patiences and credits [:D]

Do a search of the boards, before posting next time.

Read the 9th post in the following thread:

ok, read wabbits links which repeat themselves. the other trader implied that there was a more reliable way of doing so. it might be possible that vid kids idea of overloading by 1-2 might be it but the other poster did not imply this (said it was a different way)

As I stated in my original post. Read the ninth, 9th, post in that topic. (The one posted by Rich Mead.) That is the most reliable way of doing what you want.

And if you read the 4th post in that topic. It also mentions something about overloading the sector. It states that it might give you better odds of getting a rar planet. But, there was no more information given on it. Whichs means, there is no garrantee on you getting the rar planets.

And that I know of, no one has done any researched this. Beyond what Rick Mead has already posted.

And as for your possible search pattern. What you stated is BS. As I was able to do a search with just too words: rare planets

And search parameters were:

search for all words

search all forums
search entire message
search messages from any date
search messages from all members

And it came up with 38 matches. And with out doing any more searching there was 2 posts, on the first page, that had subjects refering to creating planets.

And guess what, one of those 2 is the one I linked for you.

But, even if you still could not figure that out.

Going back and refining the search even better, by adding gold to the above mentioned search words. So that you are searching for: rare planets gold

I was able to get a match on 7 topics. And guess what, the one I linked to, is the very first topic listed.

But, since you would not have thought of gold. I decided to do a refined search with odds instead of gold.

And I got 11 matches, where 3 of them have subjects referring to planet creation.

I don't know about you, even with the first search. I would have glanced at the ones referring to planet creations. And even if I done a refined search. I would have noticed that certain topics showed up again. And so I would have looked at them closely.

ok, so I should have tried alittle harder on the search :)

on the other subject of my post a player in another game board said (and I'll quote)

him: There is a trick that can be used to increase Gold planets in any system

me: that wouldnt be the trick where you fill the sector with the safe maxximum of planets, then destroy the least desireable one, and build another to replace it?

him: There is far more to it than just that

The way I always get gold planets is to overload the sector by a few planets ZDY the least desirable g-torp and ZDY till I get the planet I want I have found this works fine for getting gold planets.

The post the Wabbit is pointing you to is probably the best advice I have ever seen on how to produce gold planets in games. The other thing I think your friend may be referring to is a script that will continue the g-torp ZDY process for you till it gets the planet class you are looking for.
Now if I was you I wouldn’t believe everything everyone tells you over fed com in a game there have been times I have told peeps pressing cby really fast will get you 1mil credits and a new ship. Do you think they believed me and if they did to do think they got the 1mil credits?

Wabbit - please quit being abusive to people who ask for help. Yes, he could have found the answer if he had been more thorough in using the search function. However, there is no need to try to belittle him over it. This is not the first time you've done this and I'm getting tired of it.

Would you beleive I got someone to do that very thing 6 times in a row logging on with another account each time because I told him he wasnt doing it fast enough.

He is right though, dont beleive some things you hear, it may just be someone looking to amuse themselves by your actions.

There is only 2 possibilities for this.

1) You are not logged into the forums, period. With my attempts to view this topic, while not logged in. Produced the same error message as already described.

2) Since the topic is in a sub-forum that is is for registered Sysops only. Then you may not be able to access the topic at all.

If that is so, then there is the possibility that the topic will not show up in a search. And my apologies if that is the case. Although I do not see how that is so. As I was able to do a search, while not logged into the forums. And the topic showed up in the results list.
