I'm looking forward to playing again. I just need to get done with my degree so that I have time to. Working 40 hours a week and taking 15 credits of classes isn't easy. I need to also find a good new turns-based game so that I can get in and re-hone my skills a little.

While on that note, is there any particular helper that you all would recommend? I am looking at J-TWAT now, but I am not sure how to use it yet, and I am wondering if there are any particular recommendations. I am not going to ask which is the best, as I suspect that would be akin to asking which flavour of Linux is best(it would tend to spark a holy war in the forum). Anyway, thanks for the site, I'll look it up.

Personally, I think that J-Twat tends to do as good as the others. Though there tends to be some things that each can do that the others cant, thats just life for ya. I have just started using J-Twat recently, and it seems to be okay for my needs. Atleast for now.

Swath is the most user friendly and has the most bells and whistles... then if you want to be more advanced later on you can use swath through TWX that is the combination that I use.
you can find swath here..
http://www.swath.net

if you are a linux user Jtwat is about all that is out there , There is a version of swath for linux but I have never tried it so I cant comment on it.

Looking at SWATH now, and it does look good. a lot better and more user friendly than J-TWAT seems to be. I wish it didn't just go in and turn off ansi and stuff by default, though. Although I recognize that is sometimes useful, it can also be a bit of a pain. Oh, well.

it turns off ansi so that the scripts will run properly.... most scripts assume ansi is off......

Personally I like TWX, it's free and does the basic stuff that helpers are almost necessary for nowadays. Plus, as a programmer, I'm a fan of such an open-ended system that allows you to write your own scripts.

I suspected as much. I still prefer to see some of the ansi color there. It's all good, though.

Looks like ztm is a general PITA, though... takes too long...
