Could someone go into detail how to set up the perfect SDT operation running with 2 evils. Please advise as to which ports should be upgraded and how much. Thanks.

It's hard to come up with one perfect solution, as different games call for different things. My personal favorite, if I have 2 reds and 1 blue to support, is run 3 ships, 1 at each xxB. I upgrade each port to around 2550. I also have one other junk port to keep from faking. The reds take turns running the ports, and the colts never get moved. One red runs until the other has 2 clear sectors, then that red runs. If one ends up with a lot more turns than the other, I will upgrade more ports to 2050 and have that person run until they are under 100 turns.

When you first start do you have to load up the XXB port by selling it a bunch of equipment? Then steal back what you sold to it?

If you have a level 4 you could sell some equipment there, but generally it's easier to upgrade the port (o command). Remember 1 point of upgrade is 10 units of product (well atleast it is for equipment, i can't remember the last time i upgraded anything else).

After you do the upgrade..will there always be equipment on the dock to steal? Or will you have to upgrade some each time?

No, you can create product on the docks by upgrading the port. Your cycle will go like this:
upgrade 25
steal 250
dump, transport, lather, rinse, repeat
Whenever you accumulate a ton of product on the planet, you can sell it back. Of course you want to wait until all your teammates are finished for the day, because after that the port will be at like 2%. Works best when port regen is high.
You can also SDT at a SSS port to stock up a planet for upgrading. If you don't have one where your planets are, build one. Upgrade it and steal everything you need for your citadel construction.
Once you get a L4 planet, your massively upgraded xxB and xxS ports will complement each other nicely for other evil endeavors.

As the port regens back to 100%, you will lose the equipment you have on the port. Depending on the port regen in the game, each day you will need to re-upgrade the port some. The easiest way to find out how much is to port and steal, and it will tell you how much is on the port, then upgrade enough so you're back at whatever level you want.

Not sure where he gets 2% from?
Ideally you would want a low regen .. the lower the better .. if regen could be set at 0% then you would be set for life ..
You'll need to upgrade the port every day or leave the equipment from your last run on the planets when your done .. but leaving 5-10k eq on planets for someone else to make money off of is really annoying ..
I'me not a red at heart but remember too that some twg's use a planet trade value of 60% .. I couldnt tell you for sure .. but I would guess that SST would get you more money than sdt unless your really working with loaded ports 10k+eq on each port ..
When you are to l4's the rules change.. but generally SDT is the best source of income ..

It can be. You are using 4 turns per cycle instead of 6, so if planetary negotiation is set at 66% you'll make the same and if it's any higher you'll make more.

I was thinking about how if you upgrade a bit at a time and steal it you keep the port at 100%, but when you sell off the product it's down to nothing. Then you have to start stealing it back before it regenerates away.

what happens when the port is fully upgraded? If you upgrade it some each day it will eventually become fully upgraded...correct?

Dr Who,
Could you please expand on why it is a different game when you have lvl 4's? I understand that at that point I can warp my planets around, but I want to use it to the fullest advantage. What would you do when you have 4 lvl 4's?
