Does destroying ports (besides StarDock and Class O ports)have any real effect on the game?

Basically I blast any port that I find my enemies are using/trading or if I find their pair/ports I blast one rendering the pair port useless...

but other than creating lots of debris and radiation as well as being fun, does my killing of ports affect the game in any other way, i.e. higher prices at other ports etc.
