I attacked some fighters that someone left blocking my home sector, and I dropped from positive 1500 to negative 159,000 on my alignment. Is there any practical way to recover from this blunder, other than spending 800 million credits on upgrading ports? It would take me months to stack up that much cash! I tried exiting the game with a lot of cash, but was not taxed on re-entering (I guess that only works to raise alignment if you are already positive alignment?). I can't enter the Fed Police station to post a bounty...I don't know of any other ways to raise negative alignment, except attacking Ferrengal or other evil players, and I don't have the resources for that. I tried self-destructing, but that cost me my ship and all my exp, but didn't reset my alignment to zero.
