The Reverand posted this explaination in the scripts forum:

bubble = a set of sectors secured behind a single entrance
open space <-> bubble

tunnel = a set of sectors secured behind two entrances
open space <-> tunnel <-> open space

What is the advantage of tunnels over Bubbles and like wise the advantage of Bubbles over tunnels?
