Ok for those in the know this may be a stupid question, but please humor me
Having been one that never used Photons in any games I ran on my old board, I decided while messing with an old copy of TW 3.09 (gold door version) to see how it worked.
I had logged in locally with two seperate sessions and had one player put an ISS in an adjoining sector and fire off a Photon into the sector where I was sitting in an IC.
Right afterward I warped in with the ISS. Shields and figs still worked on the IC. I figured maybe I needed to be shieldless or something. So I pecked away until the shields on the IC were gone and then warped out, re-photoned and warped in. The IC was still fully functional. I could attack without a problem.
Am I missing something? Does this only work on unmanned ships? Does it not work in real time environments, only when a user is offline?
Anyway whatever info anyone has I'd appreciate it.
