Post subject:  I can finally see me, still can't connect.

I'm trying to set up a small server for a few friends and family members.

I can play locally on 127.0.0.1
I can play on my network on 192.168.2.3
Any computer connected to my router (HardWired or WIFI) can play on that one...
my IP Address is 108.59.115.143 and NO ONE can connect to it.

canyouseeme.org can see me on ports 23, 512, 2002, and 2003 (My ISP Does not block ports... called and asked)

I have a belkin router with the firewall off, my computer added to the DMZ, and a virtual server pointing inbound port 23's to my private IP... port 23.

Any ideas on why no one can connect?

I should also add, I added twgs, twgsserv, and port 23 to the exception list on my windows firewall.

You'll have to configure your router. IP passthrough will have to be initiated.

On a Linksys/Cisco in the Applications & Gaming it is called port forwarding. I am not familiar with Belkin off the top of my head but if you google port forwarding and the make a model I am sure you will find the info. Forward the port you set TWGS up on ie 23 to 192.168.2.3 .... whatever port you use for TW just forward that port to the local IP of the machine hosting the server.

I can connect to it without any problems.

If it's like a cisco, you can't access the outside address from you internal network. For some reason they conside that to be a security risk. Most home routers allow it though.

Because you are good inside your network. This is probably a port forward issue. I would pull the computer out of the DMZ.

http://portforward.com/english/routers/ ... F9K1003v1/

Read this, it has step by step instructions on how to forward the ports for your router. For now concentrate on port 23.

to get to your server from the outside, use telnet://108.59.115.143

If that works then go to dyndns.org and set up a free acct.

PS, connecting to telnet://108.59.115.143 worked for me as well.

It looks like he already fixed the issue.

I think I just got it figured before Micro tried to connect. I think the Virtual Server (Belkins version of Port Forwarding) wasn't saving the info or something...

Glad to hear it. Just remember that your computer doesn't have to be exposed to the internet for twgs to work. Take it out of the DMZ when you get it all figured out.

I agree, only open port 23.

Here's a strange thing though, I can now connect with putty, but MicroBot can't connect.
