Importing and Exporting twa files
Ok, seemingly stupid question of the day: I had TWGS on both my laptop and desktop computers. My old desktop died and I had a new one built. I had my TWGS running on my laptop and all seemed just fine until I exported my existing game files so I could put them on my new desktop. I thought when one exported game files ALL the edits went with the export but when I imported those files, I found that none of my edits went with them, now I have to redo everything. Did I do something wrong when I exported them? I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me in this matter.

Re: Importing and Exporting twa files
Not sure what proceedure you used to archive, but the steps are:
1) Shut down server 2) Open command center and highlight the game you want to archive. 3) Pull down the archive menu and select export 4) If you want all the globals exported, select boxes in both screens 5) Name the file for that game and export it to a directory you can easily find.
To import, reverse steps 2 to 4 but choose import.
Each game has to be done seperately.

Re: Importing and Exporting twa files
Thanks BigD. I got to thinking about HOW I did it and realized I had only the top box checked. I'll go back in and check the boxes in both.

Re: Importing and Exporting twa files
Ok. This is what I'm running into. I have 5 games. Game A is 5k sectors, 2k turns some mild planet edits. I got tired of trying to defend an earth or ocean with 100k fuel so upped that to 1 mil, mountain same thing, 200k to 2 mil, volcs 1 mil to 3 mil. Games B and E my own edits, B game 20k sectors 20k turns, gold aliens, Game C is Subzero 20k sectors and Game D is The neighborhood also 20k sectors. Subzero and The neighborhood are as they were written by whoever. I didn't modify them.
Now, when I exported them, Game A became a 20k sector game not the 5k I had. I didn't check the others to see what happened with them. I can only presume that they've gotten changed also. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong here? I would think if I export a 5k sector game, it should remain a 5k sector game.
