NEW FEATURE!

If you create a file called sysops.txt in the root folder, containing the sysops names one on each line. When that user connects to play it will put (sysop) out by their name. Likewise if an admin connects it will put (admin) by their name.. [ admin will do that with or without the sysops.txt file ]

Did you get the latest version? Also did you fix it to make it opera compatable?

Yes and no. I grabbed the latest update with the log parser and got all that updated. The logs look great now. I haven't messed with non-IE compatbility yet. I think the problem is with my custom web template so it may be hard to fix. I'll work on it more tomorrow

Thats great.. Also I may have failed to put this in the documentation but you can add <<$oldlogs>> to give your visitors a drop down of all the previous days logs. You can see my site for an example. I think the twlogs.htm file has it in it as well.

All: I have updated the website, I have seperated DARKMATTER from the TWWS site. Have a look and let me know what you think.

Really kewl program and I would like to add it to my site!
I am new to hosting a TW server and wish you had more detailed instructions for setting it up. I have read the twstats.rtf, but still not sure what all I have to do.
Anny assistance would be appreciated. I would also consider making a donation to get help to get it setup and running.

I have to say, I am completely stumped as to why my pages aren't working in Opera/Firefox. If I point Opera to http://www.tmcbbs.com/TW/TWStats/twactive.htm the page renders properly, just without the <<$variable>> information being filled in. But, when I try and load the page with data going to http://www.tmcbbs.com/TW/TWStats/twactive.cgi the raw HTML is displayed. It works fine in IE, just not firefox and opera.

I have tried stripping all of the extra code that MS Expressions Web adds to the page, and I even tried redoing the page in Dreamweaver and I get the same result. Does the CGI script add or modify any HTML tags aside from populating the variables?

When someone views the page, here is what my server web logs return:

6/3 10:21:19a 6628 Request: GET /TW/TWStats/styles.css HTTP/1.1
6/3 10:21:19a 6884 !CGI Process twactive.cgi did not generate valid headers
6/3 10:21:19a 6628 Request resolved to: c:\sbbs\web\html\TW\TWStats\styles.css
6/3 10:21:19a 6628 Result: HTTP/1.1 304 Not Modified

So, I think it is a problem with the file headers and IE is able to handle it, but Opera and Firefox are not. I'll try the stock pages again and see if they work. I may have to use a different web server. I am currently using the version of Apache included with Synchronet BBS.

The HTM files are just templates. I guess I need to look at your page in IE, view the source and see what the header it generates is and make you a file that does the same and see if it makes a difference.

Do you host your own web server or use an online company. (like rackspace) ect. ?

OK, I tried the stock pages in twws12d.zip and got the same result. I tried hosting the pages in IIS and they won't properly render in IE, Firefox or Opera. I'll give it a shot using XITAMI and see if I have better luck.

I am  using my own server(s)
My TWIG server is running by itself on a windows XP Home Edition
My Web server is on the same network and is running Fedora Core 5 with Apache Web server.
If necessary, I can set up web service on the XP box to mak ethis work and link to it from the main site. I would prefer to host the pages on my web server, and could pull the files from the XP machine when they have been made.

Thanks,
Commander Data
